KBR's exceptional LNG capabilities were on display recently at the 7th annual Indonesia Power Generation & Independent Power Producer (IPP) Summit in Jakarta, the country's premier conference and exhibition dedicated to advancing a reliable and competitive power generation business in Indonesia. Along with other corporate and government officials, KBR leaders had the opportunity to provide their unique insight and expertize related to LNG as this prestigious group discussed the vision for the future of Indonesian power while collectively developing solutions to the challenge of significantly increasing power generation capacity in Indonesia over the next few years in order to keep up with high consumer demands.

At the event KBR's Greg Conlon, President, Asia-Pacific, along with KBR Project Manager Douglas Rowe gave a presentation on the main challenges associated with development of gas and LNG infrastructure to support the multiple remote power generation facilities planned for Indonesia.

KBR's Greg Conlon recently spoke at the Indonesia Power Generation & Independent Power Producer (IPP) Summit about the challenges and opportunities in the industry.

Developing gas and LNG infrastructure in Indonesia is challenging," Conlon explained. "Remote locations scattered across many islands and small power stations with relatively modest LNG demand can lead to relatively high cost of developing infrastructure with long payback when applying the historical LNG development models. A paradigm shift in the approach to design of LNG infrastructure is necessary and development of new concepts to provide cost effective supply solutions are some of the challenges that we need to resolve."

KBR's experience and capabilities in designing and building LNG infrastructure worldwide is unmatched, including the recent front-end engineering and design (FEED) development for Tangguh LNG Train 3 in remote Bintuni Bay, Papua Barat, Indonesia, and the ongoing KBR feasibility study and FEED development for the gas supply logistics and infrastructure for PLN's gas-fired power plant in eastern Indonesia.

KBR has extensive experience in Indonesia including the recent front-end engineering and design (FEED) development for Tangguh LNG Train 3 in Papua Barat, Indonesia.
