KBR Partners with Local School to Promote Careers in Engineering

KBR's Leatherhead office has partnered with the University Technical College (UTC) Reading's Pipeline Talent Programme to support young students through a structured development program to build their employability and technical skills. UTC depends on support from the local business community to give students a better idea of what they are actually interested in studying in the fields of computing and engineering and the KBR team is eager to provide insight into a technical career path with the company.

A team of KBR personnel recently attended UTC Reading's Open Evening to promote KBR to students and parents as a possible employer of the future. KBR's Government Services and Hydrocarbons Services projects were highlighted - showing attendees the breadth of KBR's expertise.

As part of its commitment to supporting he next generation of male and female engineers, KBR will welcome thirteen students aged 16 to 18 will visit KBR's UK headquarters in Leatherhead over the next two years to engage with engineering and project management teams with exposure to KBR's apprenticeship and graduate training schemes. The students will spend four days a year with the HS and GS teams where they will be assisted in employability skills, technology and career advice. If the students then decide to apply for one of KBR's apprenticeship or graduate programmes, they will already have a deep understanding of the KBR ethos and work environment."
