High-quality, reliable support services delivered in unstable, hospitable and remote areas
- Remaining extremely responsive to the challenging environment Iraq presents, KBR has assembled, trained and embedded teams comprising UK nationals, third-country nationals and locally recruited workers in Baghdad and Basra to perform full support functions. Our team includes 40,000 procurement, facilities management and life support specialists based in regional offices in Iraq, Kuwait and Dubai as well as the Project Services Team in Leatherhead, UK.
- KBR analyzed and transformed previous operations upon award of contract to provide a better service. Because of KBR’s recognized capability in HSE process, procedure and legislation, we have provided support and advice in the completion of risk assessments and method statements. KBR provided planning, management and delivery of services, even during continued periods of instability. Operating alongside various agencies and organizations in support the FCO’s mission, we have developed strong working relationships with the FCO staff, service providers (FCO Services), other government departments, partner organizations and other contractors to work in challenging locations. Our goal was to develop an “Embassy Team” to deliver services and respond to changing circumstances in a joint team approach. Our operation is underpinned by our corporate processes for HSE, security and quality, ensuring a cost-effective service for the FCO and a secure working environment for all our personnel.
- KBR has helped develop local skills by hiring and training local workers. In addition, we have created a network with other providers in the area including formal relationships with other agencies in the international zone such as the U.S. Embassy and Australian Embassy. These relationships are essential to providing seamless service during times of need. We have developed a network interface to deliver effective and efficient services to the FCO, and when needed, its partners. An example was assisting other contractors in sourcing food supplies when their normal supplier had let them down on short notice.
