KBR Strengthens Leadership in Water Security with $15 Million NSW DCCEEW Contract

Publish date

KBR, in partnership with Aurecon through the WaterSecure JV, has secured a new contract with the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water worth up to AUD $15 million.

Under the contract, KBR will provide end-to-end program and project support, including business case development, commercial management, infrastructure delivery, as well as providing specialist resources to work as part of an integrated team within the department.

The team will support the planning and delivery of critical water programs across New South Wales (NSW), with a strong focus on water security and environmental resilience.

Projects include the Reconnecting River Country Program, which aims to enable the flexible use of water for the environment to support wetland and floodplain health. The contract award builds on KBR’s long history of delivering water projects for the NSW Government. Established in 2020, the WaterSecure JV has seen the contract extended multiple times and, following a competitive retender in 2025, was re appointed by the department.

Margaret Riley, Senior Director, Water said, “Re-securing this contract following a retender is a fantastic result for us. We’ve proven time and time again that our capabilities are valued and we are seen as a value for money team.

“We have an excellent working relationship with the department and it’s great that our JV team of approximately 35 people can continue to build on those solid foundations to deliver important work for the state of NSW.”
