Strategic Design with the User in Mind
KBR’s Human Systems Integration team puts the emphasis on the capabilities, skills and needs of those they support: the user.
With our holistic, human-centered approach, KBR experts maximize total system performance, safety, and operations by considering the human in the system’s design, engineering, and operational environments. This method of engineering identifies human performance characteristics within system design, and in turn reduces lifecycle costs and increases system efficiency, usability, sustainability, and quality.
KBR’s broad training, research and integrated medical solutions are used to optimize both human performance and system designs in extreme environments. Our research, development, test and evaluation facilities also conduct human factors studies in intense conditions like rapid acceleration, high altitude, subzero-to-desert temperatures, and isolation.
“KBR’s broad training, research and integrated medical solutions are used to optimize both human performance and system designs in extreme environments.”
We can simulate and evaluate reactions to abrupt altitude decompression, airflow changes, high levels of stress and fatigue, flight and space-level acceleration forces, and the effects of being disoriented. These modeling and simulation techniques allow us to best determine human responses to a multitude of factors, mitigate risks to programs and projects, and enable smart trade-space across cost, schedule, and technical performance.
