KBR Sponsored Reservists Receive Medals for HET Project
Two KBR Sponsored Reservists (SR) recently received Iraq Medals for their dedication to the Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) project, which works with the Ministry of Defence and is based at Bulford Barracks in Salisbury, UK.
A sponsored reservist is not a full-time member of the military, but is fully trained and called into action when service is needed. Their training and equipment is provided by the Ministry of Defence and the SR is a full member of the unit in which deployed.
The HET contract pioneered the concept of SRs, and by joining in early 2003, the two KBR Sponsored Reservists helped KBR and the British Army develop the concept of sponsored reservists into reality.
