KBR JV Awarded FEED Contract for Angel Gas Development

HOUSTON – Mar. 10, 2005 - Eos, a joint venture between KBR and WorleyParsons, has been awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the proposed Angel gas production platform by Woodside Energy Ltd, operator of the North West Shelf Venture. The contract is part of the development of the Angel gas field off Karratha in Western Australia. KBR is the engineering and construction subsidiary of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL).

The North West Shelf Venture is expected to consider final approval of the Angel development in the second half of 2005. A decision will be taken at that time to extend the contract with Eos into an engineering, procurement and construction management contract.

"We are pleased to be awarded this FEED contract and to be part of the Angel development," said Lou Pucher, senior vice president of KBR's Energy & Chemicals division. "This award enhances Eos's relationship with Woodside and presence in Western Australia. The proposed gas production platform is expected to supply gas to the North West Shelf's LNG facilities, where the first four trains were built by a KBR joint venture."

The FEED contract will refine the engineering for a remotely operated processing platform with three sub-sea wells, a first for the region. Hydrocarbons will be produced through one processing train capable of producing 800 million standard cubic feet of gas a day and 50,000 barrels of condensate a day.

The gas and condensate will be sent from Angel via a new pipeline connected to one of the existing 135km offshore trunklines to the North West Shelf Venture's onshore gas plant near Karratha.
