Closed Cyclones: Robust, market leading riser termination
Effective removal of product vapors from the FCC converter after being cracked from the feed is paramount to maintaining desired yields. In a modern FCC unit, the desired products from the catalytic cracking are generated in the riser. Once through the riser, routing product vapors out of the FCC converter must be done with an effective riser termination system to minimize post-riser residence time, which leads to thermal cracking of riser products and produces more undesired dry gases. KBR and ExxonMobil's riser termination solution is Closed Cyclone technology.
