KBR brings strong business acumen and robust corporate governance principles to projects through our representation on project company boards of directors. We are an active board participant and a strong shareholder who can be instrumental in helping projects to achieve their objectives. Debt providers are often encouraged by our willingness to be exposed to the same long term risk profile as other stakeholders through our investment, rather than holding the shorter term risk typical for an EPC contractor.
In addition to projects which receive equity from our Ventures business unit, we have invested capital in many other innovative projects across the globe. We are currently a shareholder in nine projects located in Australia, Egypt, Ireland and the UK, with ownership interests ranging from 10 to 45 percent in these projects.
Our dedication to investments alongside other project sponsors supports our efforts in the owners' interests in projects where one or more of our business units have played a significant role in the venture.
